    • Hold an active, valid license in your respective province. 
    • Have relevant clinical experience in your field (some roles may require specific experience in working with veterans or military populations). 
    • For mental health professionals, experience or training in trauma-informed care or PTSD is required. 
    • Must pass background checks, including any provincial or local regulations applicable to health care providers working with veterans.

  • We provide training and orientation to help new staff members understand the unique needs of veterans, including military culture, common physical and mental health challenges, and trauma-informed care practices. 
  • As part of our team, you’ll receive: 

    • Orientation to familiarize you with our agency’s mission, values, and processes. 
    • Access to our online portals for ease of reviewing and entering progress notes, scheduling, and more. 
    • A point of contact for any questions or concerns you may have, ensuring you feel supported in your role. 
  • Working with veterans requires a deep understanding of military culture and the challenges faced by those who have served. Veterans may experience: 

    • Combat-related trauma (PTSD) 
    • Physical injuries (including amputations, burns, etc.) 
    • Substance abuse issues or mental health conditions like depression and anxiety 
    • Unique health concerns related to their service 

    A holistic, trauma-informed approach is critical to providing the best care.

While some roles may require specific geographic locations (e.g., in home care in rural communities), there may also be opportunities for telehealth positions, especially for mental health professionals, depending on the needs of veterans in different areas.

  • Yes, telehealth positions are available for certain roles, especially for mental health professionals, depending on provincial licensing and regulatory requirements. We support remote work to ensure that veterans, especially those in rural or underserved areas, have access to quality care.

    1. Interview process: If your qualifications meet our needs, you will be contacted for an interview. This may include an initial phone or video interview followed by a second video interview. 
    1. Background check and credentialing: Upon receiving an offer, we will conduct background checks, verify licenses and credentials, and ensure compliance with federal and provincial regulations. 
    1. Orientation and training: New hires will participate in an orientation session and training programs to get acclimated to our agency’s operations and the specific needs of the veteran population. 
  • The hiring process typically takes anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks, depending on the role and your location. We strive to move quickly, but also ensure that we are thorough in our evaluations to match candidates with the right roles. 
  • You will be required to obtain a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search, and it must be completely clear in order for you to work with our agency.
